Reducing our Environmental Impact

13th May 2019

With climate change very much at the forefront of everyone’s thoughts, we are actively changing how we do things here at S&G and in doing so, reducing our impact on our environment.

Stephens & George will be implementing within our production process, paper wrapping on one of our mailing lines.

Working alongside Antalis, Sitma, Englemann & Buckham, we have carried out numerous trials with various types of paper and magazine size confirming which products can be used for this revolutionary process. After these trials proved to be successful, Andrew Jones decided to invest in the paper wrapping kit, being one of the first UK printing companies to do so.

Not only is this mailing option environmentally friendly, an added benefit to the publishers that choose the paper wrapping option is that they’d also be able to use the Royal Mail’s Mail Mark scheme, (certain criteria must be met,)  as a barcode can easily be added to the paper envelope. Andrew Jones confirmed that Stephens & George would be in a position to offer this mailing option towards the end of May.

Here is a video of the paper wrap in action.
